At Seasonz Boutique at 53 South Moger Avenue, owner Jane Pieragostini said she felt she had a positive weekend and there was nice traffic downtown.

"We haven't really sat down and calculated, but we have been very busy," Pieragostini said. "Small Business Saturday has improved every year since it started. It's very important for us."

Free parking on Small Business Saturday was also provided in Mount Kisco by American Express and Patch.

"American Express did a fabulous job getting the word out," Pieragostini said. "The parking meters created a positive feeling."

Pieragostini said residents could do more to support the downtown and keep business in Mount Kisco.

"We always want to see that," Pieragostini said. "I am born and raised in Mount Kisco, we know everybody. We see a lot of faces here that we know. A lot of people support us. Mount Kisco is a great place, we would like to get the word out more."

Robin White, owner of New York Dolls on 153 E. Main Street in Mount Kisco said they had a really good weekend.

"I think people have become more aware of the importance shopping local," White said. "We try to do everything we can to promote it. What else can we offer our customers?"

White said she would love to see the village ease up on parking restrictions and do more to promote the town.

"We need to have more community activities in town and more community spirit," White said. "Give people parking some more leeway.

Cathy Deutsch, who has run Tiger Lily Boutique at 139 E. Main Street for 10 years, said Black Friday and Small Business Saturday often don't help small businesses.

"People are mall-centric," Deutsch said. "We did fine, we are grateful to our customers."

Deutsch said they need consumers to come out and support local businesses, encouraging people to park in the lot behind the vacant Borders.

"We have lots of sales and incentives," Deutsch said. "People will feel a lot of services and value by shopping local."
