TUCKAHOE, N.Y. Critically acclaimed author Da Chen will visit the Tuckahoe Public Library on Wednesday night to discuss his latest novel, My Last Empress.
Following the success of his previous book, Brothers which was named a best book of the year by the Washington Post, Publishers Weekly and others Chen will speak on his latest story about passion and obsession in 19th-century imperial China.
According to a press release, Da Chen immerses the reader in a world of the Chinese imperial palace, filled with ghosts and grief, where bewitching concubines, treacherous eunuchs and fierce warlords battle for supremacy.
Following his speech, Chen will interact with the public and sign books for those in attendance. The Friends of the Tuckahoe Public Library is sponsoring the event, which will be held at 7 p.m.
