BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Chapel School and Village Lutheran Church in Bronxville participated in Make a Difference Day recently.

Make a Difference Day is an international event where millions of volunteers from around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others.

School families, church members, and friends of the community gathered to complete various projects including making toys for animals in shelters, decorating pillowcases for children in hospitals, baking cookies for firefighters and writing letters to soldiers overseas.

Kate Porter, the school's music teacher for Pre-K through grade 2 and youth minister of the Village Lutheran Church, organized the Make a Difference event. It was the second year the school and church have participated.

As a member of Chapel's Class of 1962, I love reading about the school's activities and seeing how it has grown and progressed in the last 50+ years. On a recent visit to the church i passed through the halls of Chapel School and found a colorful happy place filled with excited children. Wish I could go back in time and be a student there all over again! :)
