Now, three generations and 77 years later, Beecher’s commitment to customers at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home has been retained by the Flooks family, and the business has maintained its reputation as one of the most compassionate, qualified funeral homes in the region.

Bill Flooks, the business’ long-time funeral director, will accept the Chairman’s Recognition Award on Tuesday, April 21, at The Business Council of Westchester’s Hall of Fame Awards at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. Tickets are available through The Business Council of Westchester website.

Bill Flooks is a second-generation funeral director, and has been licensed in New York State for 30 years. He purchased Beecher Funeral Home in 2004, and became only the third owner of the business. His son, Billy, also works there with him.

Together, the family has worked for a decade to strengthen their community, grow business and respect the environment, all without losing sight of their primary mission: making difficult times easier for grieving families.

The non-denominational funeral home has worked with approximately 2,500 families since 2004 and is a member of several industry organizations, including the New York State Funeral Directors Association, the Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association and the Westchester Funeral Directors Association.

Flooks, a resident of White Plains, continues to remain active in the Pleasantville community as the immediate past President of the Pleasantville Lions Club. He is also currently the President of the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chairperson of the Development Advisory Board as well as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester and a Board Member of the New York State Funeral Directors Tribute Foundation.

The other Hall of Fame honorees are:

  • Corporate Citizenship: New York Medical College in Valhalla.
  • Entrepreneurial Success: Mindspark in Yonkers.
  • Small Business Success: York International Agency, LLC in Harrison.
  • Family Owned Business: American Christmas in Mount Vernon.
  • Women in Business Success: Rella Fogliano, president of MacQuesten Development Companies in Pelham.
