Eastchester Hosting 13th Annual Traffic Expo And Kids' Safety Day

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The 13th annual Traffic Expo and Kids Safety Day will be held Saturday at Eastchester Town Hall.

The main sponsors of the event are the Eastchester Civic Associations and The Community Fund, though Town Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita and many local businesses are also supporting the effort, according to a press release.

Free refreshments and raffle prizes will be offered.

Martial arts and dance performances will be available, along with a number of exhibits dealing with safety and general health and wellness.

AT&T will have a texting while driving simulator to show people how dangerous it is to text while driving.

The Eastchester Fire Department will be demonstrating its “Jaws of Life” equipment, which is used when people need to be extricated from a car that has been in a major collision.

Free bicycle helmets, fingerprinting and photo ID cards for children, and car seat installation will also be offered.

The winners of the Eastchester High School scholarship and essay content will be announced.

All events are free, though T-shirts and raffle tickets are available for purchase.

All proceeds benefit the Eastchester Police Department.

The 13th annual Traffic Expo – Kids Safety Day will be from noon-3 p.m., and is open to the public.

Eastchester Town Hall is at 40 Mill Road.
