Eastchester Hosts Safety-Day Writing Contest For Elementary, Middle School

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Eastchester town officials are hosting the community’s 13th annual Traffic Expo/Kids Safety Day Essay/Poetry Contest.

Students in grades two through eight at Eastchester Elementary School or Eastchester Middle School can enter the writing contest.

This year’s topic for student writers is the question of, what are you going to do to make our streets safe?

Each essay or poem must not exceed 250 words.

The competition is divided into two categories, one for second through fifth grades and the other for sixth through eighth grades.

The winner from each category will win a $75 Barnes and Noble gift card.

The deadline for entries is Friday, May 8.

Entries should be submitted to Eastchester Town Hall, Attention: Traffic Expo Committee, 40 Mill Road, Eastchester, NY 10709.

Prizes will be awarded at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 16, at the Traffic Expo at Eastchester Town Hall.
