Fordham University Presents Healthcare Admin Workshops In West Harrison

WEST HARRISON, N.Y. -- Fordham University School of Professional and Continuing Studies has announced a new series of six workshops in healthcare administration, “Intensive Experience in Healthcare Innovation,” designed to provide the skill sets and background necessary to succeed in today's growing healthcare industry.

The workshops will be offered at Fordham's Westchester campus in West Harrison as weekend intensives (Saturdays and Sundays), six hours per day (9 a.m. – noon and  2 p.m. to 5 p.m.), 12 hours per workshop. Participants may enroll in one or more workshops and those completing all six will receive a certificate of completion.

The workshops are designed for current healthcare middle managers as well as those who have transitioned into healthcare from other industries. The cost is $500 per workshop.

The Fordham Healthcare Workshop Series schedule is as follows:

Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22: Leadership and Critical Thinking in Healthcare covers critical areas of managing a healthcare organization including negotiation, organization management styles and methods of decision making with practical exercises with an executive management case study focus.

Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12: Healthcare Information Systems and Data Security provides an understanding of technology-based methods used for vital functions in various aspects of the healthcare delivery system.

Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26:  Healthcare Policy and Regulatory Issues examines past and current political, legal, technological and economic healthcare policy developments.  Various methods of health services delivery and financing, regulation of the healthcare industry and overall impact on the population are covered.

Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3: Data Analytics provides the participant with an introductory capacity to identity and describe the structure and conduct of quantitative analytical methods. 

Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31:  Navigating the Healthcare System: Who Are the New Caregivers? This workshop introduces the new types of caregiver roles evolving in provider venues with a special focus on MDs, DOs, physician assistants, visiting nurses, CNAs, healthcare navigators and social workers. 

Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14: Healthcare Marketing, Social Media and Ethical Advertising offers an introduction to the methods and strategies associated with healthcare marketing and patient information sources.
