Stamford Man Pleads Guilty to Guns Charge

STAMFORD, Conn. — Desmond “Dez” Brown, 31, of Stamford, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport Thursday, a press release from U.S. Attorney David B. Fein said.

The release gave the following account: On Feb. 12, 2010, Brown was found with a nine-millimeter semi-automatic pistol, a .22 caliber rifle, and several rounds of ammunition for the rifle. The serial numbers on the guns had been obliterated.

Previously, Brown had been convicted of multiple state felony offenses. It is a federal offense for a felon to possess firearms or ammunition that have traveled in interstate or foreign commerce.

He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years and a fine up to $250,000. Brown’s will be sentenced on March 22.
