Leadership Westchester To Hold Panel Talk In Rye Brook

RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- Members of Leadership Westchester will hold a panel discussion Tuesday in Rye Brook to explore the local implications of a number of national issues.

The panelists will address issues related to access and opportunity for public students in urban settings, the transformational nature of transportation and transit, environmental sustainability and community-building, and childhood trauma and adversity and its impact on family and community.

Leadership Westchester is a program of the Volunteer Center of United Way. The Volunteer Center is dedicated to increasing volunteerism in Westchester County through organized volunteer projects and by connecting individuals to nonprofit organizations.

The panel will include Veronica Vanterpool, executive director of the Tri State Transportation Campaign; Laura Rossi of the Westchester Community Foundation; Brian Farragher, executive vice president of ANDRUS; and Wendy Nadel, executive director of Yonkers Partners in Education. The discussion will be led by Alisa Kesten, executive director of the Volunteer Center. 

The talk will begin at 9 a.m. in the fifth floor auditorium at 800 Westchester Ave. in Rye Brook. The event is free but advance reservations are required. Contact Alisa Kesten at 914-948-4452 or leadership@volunteer-center.org to reserve a spot.
