Basement Fire in Port Chester Building

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Adee Street between King and Main streets was blocked off Thursday and residents gathered on the corners to watch firefighters working to put out a fire.The Port Chester Fire Department received a call at approximately 1:47 p.m. Thursday and was on the scene within minutes, where an electrical fire had broken out in the basement of an apartment building at 104 Adee Street.Assistant Fire Chief Ed Quinn said the fire was quickly put out, but caused some power lines connected to the building to arc and had to be severed. No injuries were reported.Quinn said the fire is being investigated by the Westchester County Cause & Origin Team and has yet to determine whether it was accidental.This story will be updated.
