The popular Tuckahoe Public Library memoir class will continue in April.

For several years, the library has been the home for the local memoir group. They meet monthly at the library to read, critique and review the various stories that they have written as part of their personal memoir.

Tuckahoe Library Director Swadesh Pachananda said that when the group began, some of the participants were hesitant to put their story on paper, but as the group evolved and developed camaraderie, the memoirs came along quickly.

Each year, when the pieces have been reviewed and edited, they are put together, select pictures are included and they are bound into a collaboration, and each member is given a copy – for a small fee – to hold on to and share as a keepsake.

The memoir group will next meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at the library. Due to its popularity, those interested are advised to call the library at (914) 961-2121 to register.
