The theme of Community Day will be safety and forming cohesive relationships between residents and the department tasked with protecting them. There will be safety-inspired giveaways, and members of the police will square off against members of the community in a softball and kickball game.

Community Day kicks off from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, with Safe Riders Day, when children can ride their bikes on village streets in a safe, contained environment. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., there will be a child safety seat demonstration that will provide safety tips for children and parents.

Continuing the theme of bike safety, there will be a bike inspection and repair station, bicycle registration, safety and obstacle courses.

Cops and kids take the field beginning at 12:30 p.m., with the Cops for Kids kickball game. It immediately precedes the Cops for Kids softball game, which will have a 1:30 p.m. first pitch.

All events will take place at the Parkway Oval near Bronx Street and Consulate Drive in Tuckahoe.
