The fundraiser assists families whose loved ones are incarcerated by providing them with locally grown produce and the opportunity to visit relatives in prison. Proceeds from the event benefit the Victory Bus Project.

The Victory Bus Project is an effort led by local activist Jalal Sabur aimed at reuniting inmates in Hudson Valley prisons and their loved ones in the Westchester area for the holidays. The initiative prepares produce care packages for people incarcerated, combining food justice and prison reform.

“The Dance for Justice is going to be a celebration for all agents of change in the Westchester County area,” said WESPAC member Roger Drew. “Jalal Sabur has worked on tons of successful projects in the past, so I’m confident the money will go a long way.”

The event is intended to be family-friendly, featuring live entertainment, food and a cash bar. Money raised will go toward creating a grassroots funding base for local community social justice projects.

Co-sponsors of the Dance for Justice include Hudson Valley Community Coalition, a community building coalition working with immigrants; Community Governance and Development Council, a community development organization focusing on empowerment and development in southwest Yonkers; and UFCW Local 1500, New York's grocery workers’ union.

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $10 for students/low-income. For more information and to purchase tickets, go online at http://www.wespac.org.
