Westchester County Marks 16th Anniversary Of 9/11

A series of events will be held throughout Westchester County Monday to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The county will host its annual memorial ceremony at "The Rising" at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Town of Cortlandt and Villages of Buchanan and Croton-on-Hudson will be hosting a dedication ceremony at 4 p.m. at Croton Landing to dedicate a new memorial, "Reaching Through The Shadow."

A remembrance garden, which is a place for reflection and renewal, has been planted adjacent to the memorial.

Mount Kisco is hosting its annual 9/11 Memorial Service at its 9/11 Memorial at 100 Main Street at 6:15 p.m.

North Castle is hosting its annual memorial at its Sept. 11 Memorial Monument at Wampus Brook Park at Maple Avenue at 5:30 p.m.

North Salem is hosting an observance at 7 p.m. at the Croton Falls Firehouse on Titicus Road.

The Town of Greenburgh, along with the Hartsdale, Fairview and Greenville Fire Departments will hold a ceremony at Richard Presser Park on Central Avenue in front of its 9/11 memorial wall at 9:30 a.m. 

The Peekskill Fire Department is having its annual remembrance at 6:30 p.m. at its memorial at Riverfront Green.
