What To Do Around Eastchester This Week

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There will be plenty to do around Eastchester and Tuckahoe this week. The Eastchester Public Library will host a book discussion, and there will be a blood drive Thursday at the high school. See our Events Page for a complete list of local and county events.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

Photo Re-takes: Fifth-graders at Anne Hutchinson Elementary School can have their photos retaken.

Kids' Crafts: 4 p.m. Children are invited to the Tuckahoe Public Library for an hour of crafts. For children ages 5-10.

Vineyards of Italy: 6:30 p.m. Learn about the history, soil and tradition of the Vini Velenosi vineyard, and taste some samples from its owners. $35. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.

Zoning Board of Appeals: 7 p.m. The Eastchester Zoning Board of Appeals will hold its only meeting of the month. 40 Mill Road, Eastchester.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

Early Dismissals: Several Eastchester elementary schools will have half-days. Greenvale is to be let out at 10:30 a.m., Anne Hutchinson and Waverly at 11:15 a.m.

Author Conversation: 2 p.m. Enjoy a talk by author John Lanza about his book, Shot Down Over Italy. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.

Lagunitas Tap Takeover: 7 p.m. Mark Sljukic, specialty beer adviser for Lagunitas Brewing Co., will be at Growler’s Beer Bistro with samples. 25 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Mystery Club: 7 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library Mystery Club will hold a book discussion about The Maltese Falcon. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Zoning Board Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Tuckahoe Zoning Board will discuss three items on local residences. See the agenda here. 65 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Thursday, Nov. 15

Blood Drive: Eastchester High School will host a blood drive. 550 White Plains Road, Eastchester.

Adult Book Club: 2 p.m. Members of the book club will discuss Behind the Beautiful Forevers, by Katherine Boo. Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Teen Board Games: 4 p.m. Students in grades six and above can visit the Tuckahoe Public Library to play board games with their peers. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Recreation Advisory Board: 7:30 p.m. The Eastchester Recreation Advisory Board will have its only meeting of November. 40 Mill Road, Eastchester.
