What To Do Around Eastchester This Week

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There is no shortage of things to do around Eastchester and Tuckahoe this holiday week. Students will have a shortened week, and village and town board meetings will be held before the holiday. See our Events Page for a complete list of local and county events.

Monday, Nov. 19

Eastchester Parent-Teacher Conferences: There will be early dismissals at Greenvale (10:30 a.m.), Anne Hutchinson and Waverly elementary schools (11:15 a.m.).

Adult Book Club: 6:30 p.m. Members of the book club will discuss Behind the Beautiful Forevers, by Katherine Boo. Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Board of Education Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Tuckahoe Board of Education will meet, following an executive session. 65 Siwanoy Blvd., Eastchester.

Village Board Meeting: 8 p.m. The Tuckahoe Village Board will host its only public meeting of the month. 65 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

Paws and Tales: 4 p.m.-5 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library is offering beginning readers the chance to practice reading their favorite tales aloud to furry, friendly therapy dogs. All dogs are certified and registered through The Good Dog Foundation. Story-loving dogs will be available for 10-minute reading sessions. Town Board Meeting: 7 p.m. The Eastchester Town Board will host its last meeting of the month. 40 Mill Road, Eastchester.

Eagles Sports Club: 7:30 p.m. The club will meet at Eastchester High School for its only meeting of the month.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

Eastchester Schools Half-day: Greenvale Elementary School, the high school and middle school will be dismissed at 11 a.m. Anne Hutchinson and Waverly elementary schools will be let out at 11:30 a.m.

FitWalk Series: This dynamic workout program will incorporate strength, cardio, speed drills, agility and functional training. 2 Lake Ave., Tuckahoe.

Film Series: 12:30 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library will screen a film for adults, “People Like Us.” 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Teen Writing Group: 4 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library will host a writing group for teenagers that is open to students in grades six and above. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Thursday, Nov. 22

Thanksgiving: Eastchester Town Hall and Tuckahoe Village Hall are closed, as are schools and the public libraries.
