What To Do Around Eastchester This Week

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – An exhibit opening in Scarsdale, a town board meeting in Eastchester and an author reading in Bronxville highlight some of the Events planned around Eastchester and Tuckahoe this week.

Monday, Dec. 3

Exhibit Opening: 6:30 p.m. There will be an opening of “Presepio Napoletano.” $10. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.

Pajama time: 7 p.m. Wear your pajamas, bring your teddy bears and join Miss Ellen for pre-bedtime stories and fun. Open to children ages 4 and up. Registration is required by calling 914-961-2121. Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

Music Tuesday: 1:30 p.m. Sarah Lawrence College’s Chamber Ensemble will perform student compositions. Reisinger Concert Hall, 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.

Author reading: 2 p.m. Author Lynne Schwartz, a PEN/Faulkner Award nominee, will read some of her work at Sarah Lawrence College. Slonim Living Room, 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.

Kid’s Craft: 4 p.m. Celebrate the season with a children’s craft session for kids ages 5 through 10. The Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Town Board: 7 p.m. There will be an Eastchester Town Board meeting in the town auditorium, 40 Mill Road, Eastchester.

Childbirth class: 7:30 p.m. Childbirth classes are offered for expectant parents. Parents can attend class on three consecutive Tuesdays or complete the entire session on a single Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $200 per couple. Lawrence Hospital, 55 Palmer Ave., Bronxville.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Afternoon movie: 12:30 p.m. A film for adults, “Darling Companion,” starring Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline and Dianne Wiest, will be shown. The Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Craft Talk: 2 p.m. Tao Lin will discuss “Kmart Realism,” a term applied to minimalist writers. 1 Mead Way, Bronxville.

Teen Writing Group: 4 p.m. A writing group for teenagers is open to students in grades six and above. The Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Toddler story time: 10:30 a.m. Story hour offered for children up to age 2 with a caregiver. No registration required. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Memoir Workshop: Noon. A writing workshop will teach residents how to craft their memoirs. Tuckahoe Public Library, 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Science Honor Society: 7 p.m. The best and brightest science students at Eastchester High School will be celebrated at an induction ceremony. 580 White Plains Road, Eastchester.
