Friday, Oct. 5
Preschool stories: 11 a.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library hosts a special story time for pre-school children. 71 Columbus Ave.
Columbus Day carnival: 6 to 11 p.m. The Columbus Day celebration will begin at Lake Isle Country Club, featuring a DJ and opening night dance party. 660 White Plains Road, Eastchester.
Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its film series screening “People Like Us.” 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.
Music at the park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro showcases artists in various music genres. This week will feature R&B vocalist and guitarist Keith Robinson. Guests will receive a complimentary Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.
Saturday, Oct. 6
Tag sale: 10 a.m. There is a multi-family tag sale in Tuckahoe. Goods for sale include furniture, computer desks, a crib, toys, filing cabinets, clothes and more. 104 Scarsdale Road, Tuckahoe.
Mobile Shredder: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Westchester County mobile shredder will visit the Fisher Lot in Tuckahoe so residents can shred sensitive documents safely.
Columbus Day carnival: 1 to 11 p.m. The Columbus Day celebrations continue with live Italian music by The Next Step at 6 p.m., followed by a wine and meatball contest at 6:30 p.m. 660 White Plains Road, Eastchester.
Varsity football: 3 p.m. The Eastchester football team will host visiting Brewster for an afternoon game. 550 White Plains Road, Eastchester.
Sunday, Oct. 7
Columbus Day celebration: The annual parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot, and will travel up Main Street and Route 22, ending at Lake Isle. There will be a fireworks display at 9 p.m. 660 White Plains Road, Eastchester.
Film series: 1:30 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its film series screening “People Like Us.” 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.
Science Barge: 2 p.m. Children can learn about how plants have vectors to transport precious cargo on the Science Barge. 99 Dock St., Yonkers.
