What To Do Around Eastchester This Weekend

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There is a wide range of events scheduled around Eastchester and Tuckahoe this weekend. The Eastchester School District is hosting two events for students Saturday and there will be a prenatal yoga class for couples Sunday in Tuckahoe. Friday, Sept. 28

Preschool stories: 11 a.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library hosts a special story time for pre-school children. 71 Columbus Ave.

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its film series with a screening of “Lost Horizon.” 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Varsity football: 6 p.m. The Eastchester football team travels to Yorktown to play at Walter Panas High School. 300 Croton Ave., Cortlandt Manor.

Saturday, Sept. 29

Tuckahoe Farmers' Market: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Tuckahoe Farmers' Market once again returns to the parking lot at the Metro-North Station across from the Generoso Pope Foundation. 1 Depot Square.

Language classes for children: 10 a.m. These workshops will focus on art, music, literature, games and culinary arts to immerse students in the Italian language and culture. $275 for 10 classes. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.

Youth Sports Day: Noon to 2 p.m. The Eastchester School District is inviting students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade to see what Eastchester sports are all about.  550 White Plains Road, Eastchester.

Harvest Fest: 1 p.m. Growlers Beer Bistro is hosting its first annual Harvest Fest. The event will feature a festive menu with live music, raffles and games. 25 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Welcome Back Carnival: 1-5 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to join in fun and games as the community unites to help teens in foster care. $5 admission fee in the form of gift card or cash. Gift cards are preferred. 550 White Plains Road, Eastchester.

Padre Pio: 2 p.m. Mario Bruschi will speak about his personal encounter with Padre Pio when he was 23 and about how the saint has been influential in saving the lives of people all over the world. Must register in advance and prepay. $10. 24 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.

Sunday, Sept. 30

Prenatal yoga: 2 p.m. Pregnant couples can come and explore the possibilities of taking yoga into the delivery room to bring a sense of peace during labor. $75. 62 Main St., Tuckahoe.
