What's Happening Around Eastchester This Weekend

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Art exhibits abound this weekend as many schools in the area head off on spring recess. Here are a list of some of the weekend events happening around Eastchester. See our events calendar for more activities in the region.

Friday

- Drawing and Neuroscience, noon to 7:30 p.m.

The artists in this exhibition draw themselves into a world of their own creation, in which anything could happen. The urge to discover something new, something unanticipated, is often the reason to draw in the first place and may be what it means to truly "know how" to draw. The drawings in this exhibition will be accompanied by commentary by the curator, relating the specific works to current research and theoretical models in cognitive neuroscience and psychology. OSilas Gallery, 171 White Plains Road, Bronxville, N.Y.

- Beaux Arts Exhibition, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bronxville's Beaux Arts Exhibition runs throughout April. There are 94 pieces of artwork submitted by 38 artists and photographers, both amateur and professional. The works have been judged and winners chosen. Winners will be announced at the reception on April 15. Bronxville Women's Club, 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville, N.Y.

Saturday

- Crafts for Kids, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Children 3 and older can work on crafts to take home. Lakeshore Learning Store, 969-A Central Park Ave., Greenburgh, N.Y.

- The Paintings of Carl Golub, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The works of Carl Golub, who began painting at age 70, are on display at the JCC Mid-Westchester, 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale, N.Y.
