What's Happening Around Eastchester This Weekend?

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There will be no shortage of activities for residents around Eastchester and Bronxville this weekend. The Yonkers Philharmonic will play a concert under the stars Saturday and Frankie Avalon will conclude the weekend with a show at Yonkers Raceway. Friday. July 27

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its film series when it screens “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” starring Daniel Craig. Runtime is 158 minutes. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Family film: 3:30-5 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library will be screening “An American Tail: Fievel Goes West.” Runtime is 75 minutes. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Jazz series: 6:30 p.m. The 6th annual Jazz and Blues at Dusk Concert Series at the Yonkers Waterfront continues with the Joey Berkley Quintet. Joey Berkley will lead his group in a contemporary jazz concert. 71 Water Grant St., Yonkers.

Saturday. July 28

Yonkers Philharmonic: 7:30-9:30 p.m. Bring a chair or a blanket and join the Yonkers Philharmonic at Untermyer Park. Maestro James Sadewhite will lead the orchestra. 945 N. Broadway, Yonkers.

Sunday, July 29

Worship service:  10 a.m. The Holy Eucharist will be followed by a coffee hour at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. 98 Stewart Ave., Eastchester.

Science barge: The Blue Crab Blitz series will be guest hosted by Science Barge Director Bob Walkers. He is a native of the Hudson River and founder of the Beczak Environmental Education Center. Catch crabs on the barge, measure the catch and release the crabs back into the river. For children ages 4-10. 99 Dock St., Yonkers.

Frankie Avalon: 5 p.m. Frankie Avalon will he performing a concert at Yonkers Raceway. Tickets can be purchased for between $35 and $80. 810 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers.
