What's Happening Around Eastchester This Weekend?

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There are several events scheduled for residents around Eastchester this weekend. The Tuckahoe Public Library is coordinating with the Dance Gallery for a children’s class, and there will be a block party in Garrett Park in Bronxville. 

Friday, Sept. 21 

Preschool stories: 11 a.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library hosts a special story time for preschool children. 71 Columbus Ave.

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library continues its film series with a screening of “Marigold Hotel.” 11 Oakridge Place.

Dancing Through Books: 4 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library hosts a special program for children 5 through 8. The Dance Gallery will give a special class to explore the art of reading and creating dances. 71 Columbus Ave. 

Music at the park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro showcases artists in various music genres. Guests will receive a complimentary Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.

Saturday, Sept. 22

Tuckahoe Farmers Market: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Farmers Market once again returns to the parking lot at the Metro-North Station across from the Generoso Pope Foundation. 1 Depot Square.

Afro-Peruvian dance workshop: noon. This is an opportunity to learn and appreciate the great variety of Peruvian music and dance from professional performing artist and teacher Marcos Napa. Beginner classes run from noon to 1:30 p.m. All levels run from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Advanced registration is required. Call 914-715-3388 or stop by the front desk. $30. 109 Lake Ave., Tuckahoe.

Sunday, Sept. 23

Block party: 11 a.m. The seventh annual Garrett Park Neighborhood Association Block Party and Flea Market returns to Bronxville. There will be food, goods for sale and music starting at noon. 35 Parkview Ave.
