The Eastchester Public Library is screening a Japanese film on Friday, and the Shiloh Baptist Church in Tuckahoe is hosting a back-to-school event for all ages on Saturday. Friday, Aug. 31
Drop-In Crafts: 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library will host a day of crafts for children. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.
Film Series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will screen a foreign film, "Jiro Dreams of Sushi,” as they continue their summer series. 11 Oakridge Pl., Eastchester.
Family Film: 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library continues their family film series as they screen “Horse Crazy,” a movie about three kids who hope to capture their own wild mustang. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.
Jazz Series: 6:30 p.m. The 6th annual Jazz and Blues at Dusk concert series at the Yonkers Waterfront. 71 Water Grant St., Yonkers.
Saturday, Sept. 1
Back-to-School Event: The Shiloh Baptist Church will hold a free school-supply giveaway. There will be music by DJ Carl, food, a youth step-team performance and other events. 15 Marble Pl., Tuckahoe.
Free Infant Class: 1:35 p.m. Gymboree will host a free trial class for interested parents. Classes are designed to explore senses, and support visual and auditory development in children. 450 Central Park Ave., Scarsdale.
Sunday, Sept. 2
Tuckahoe Farmers Market: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The farmers market will once again return to the parking lot at the Metro-North Station across from the Generoso Pope Foundation. 1 Depot Square, Tuckahoe.
Science Barge: 2 p.m. The “Language of Liquids” project will take place on the Science Barge. Children will be introduced to the basics of density and buoyancy and will learn about making things float. 99 Dock St., Yonkers.
