Local kids ages 10-13 who can swing a bat and field a baseball just might be appearing in an upcoming major film "Twelve," that is looking for locals to appear as extras.

Producers said they need about 100 youth baseball players of all skill levels, sizes, and ethnicities to take part in the movie that will be filming in Brewster and other areas of Putnam and Dutchess County between July 24 and Aug. 5.

Auditions will take place on Sunday, June 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mt. Scolpino Park in Brewster. Kids should bring their bats and gloves.

The Hudson Valley Film Commission said producers are also looking for family, friends, and relatives of the players to be extras in the movie.

Most of the extras will only be needed for one day of filming. About 40 players, mostly 12 -13-year-old, will be needed for 3 to 4 days of shooting. All roles are unpaid, but there will be the fun of being in a movie and plenty of food and drinks.

In addition to extras, the film is also looking to hire a craft services person, a script supervisor and a sound mixer. The best part, they prefer to hire locals.

To participate, fill out the form and email it to who forward it to the film's line producer. The deadline is June 24.
