WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Runners from Westchester County were among the 50,000 athletes who hit the streets on Sunday, Nov. 2, for the TCS New York City Marathon.

Runners faced chilly conditions and stiff, blustery winds for the race, where Wilson Kipsang won the men’s race and Mary Keitany led the women’s field. Both runners are from Kenya.

Among the finishers was Eastchester's Tom Dube, who ran the race for Fred's Team, which raises money for cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering hospital.  Dube has run 27 marathons, including his first in 1987 at New York. In 2004, Dube's 20-month old son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and spend the next threeyears in treatment at Sloan-Kettering. He is is now a healthy student at Eastchester Middle School. He finished in 3:56:42.
