EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Free flu shots for anyone over 19 will be available in two locations in the coming weeks:
- Tuckahoe, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Tuckahoe Community Center, 71 Columbus Avenue.
- Eastchester, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Eastchester Library, 11 Oakridge Place.
- Bronxville, from 10 a.m., to 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, Bronxville Reformed Church, 180 Pondfield Road.
The vaccine is being offered by New York-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital and the Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe. For more information call 914-787-6060.
According to the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people at highest risk from the flu are the very young, the very old and those who already have a chronic health issue. Pregnant women should get it because it will protect them as well as their baby. People should get vaccinated every year because the flu strain changes every year.
