The popular Scarsdale Farmers Market is moving indoors, and will continue to provide access to fresh, local produce and an assortment of other items.

The pilot pop-up market was originally scheduled to conclude on Oct. 26, but due to its popularity, it was extended through Nov. 16. It is now heading indoors beginning this week.

"I am pleased the Village is re-introducing a farmers market in Scarsdale’s Village Center after a four-year absence,” Village Manager Stephen Pappalardo said. “We look forward to providing patrons fresh locally grown produce and other unique options while providing another opportunity for our residents and neighbors to visit Scarsdale and frequent our wonderful local businesses."

Pappalardo noted that there would be an organic option, with other vendors offering a variety of breads, sweet treats, a specialty cheesemonger, honey from a beekeeper based in Verplank, Hudson Valley maple syrup and Middle Eastern foods prepared on location by Amal Rabadi, the owner of Irvington Delight.

Corinna Makris, the owner of Village Green Markets and manager of the Peekskill Farmers Market has been retained as village manager of the market in Scarsdale.

"Farms and other food vendors have been asking for weekday markets as a new opportunity to connect with customers,” she said. “The Scarsdale Village Center features many fine small business owners and we're thrilled to be a part of this vibrant shopping area."

The Scarsdale Farmers Market pilot program will continue to operate on Thursdays from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 13-15 Boniface Circle, the former home of Space NK. The indoor market will continue through April 26 before it returns for a full season outdoors in May.
