EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Santa Claus came to town this weekend, much to the delight of Eastchester children, where he spread holiday cheer in the area during a series of stops before he gets ready to take to the skies this Christmas.

Hundreds of children, parents and families enjoyed unseasonably warm weather in the park across from Eastchester Town Hall, where they were treated to a holiday celebration – complete with Saint Nick – hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce.

Those in attendance took pictures with Santa, enjoyed arts and crafts, homemade hot chocolate and cookies served by volunteers with the Chamber and were treated to small gift bags stuffed with goodies from several local businesses.

To cap off his visit, Santa made a stop at Winterfest, during the annual holiday tree lighting at Depot Square in Tuckahoe.

Santa’s short stop at in town was just the beginning of holiday festivities in Eastchester. From 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, the Historical Society is hosting a Victorian Christmas Party at the Marble House, featuring a “Christmas Past” display featuring ornaments, dolls, toys and books.

The Chamber is also hosting a holiday bash on Tuesday, Dec. 15, so residents can “say goodbye to choosing between parties and hello to a great mix of our town’s business, entrepreneur, tourism, hospitality, non-profit and attractions communities.”
