EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Tuckahoe-Eastchester Girl Scouts are inviting local elementary school girls to join their ranks at a recruiting event on Sept. 19.
Girl Scouts enjoy a variety of activities during the year that are designed to provide safe, wholesome and enjoyable opportunities through good decision-making, participation and cooperation with peers.
By meeting in small groups with adult leaders, Scouts are provided the environment and attention needed to develop important life skills as they mature. Last year, activities included ice skating, bowling and participation in many badge-advancement activities at the Girl Scout cabin in Eastchester.
From 3 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the Girl Scout cabin on 119 Highland Ave., prospective scouts will be able to register for $12 annual membership dues. All girls from kindergarten through fifth-grade at the Waverly, Anne Hutchinson, Greenvale, Cottle and Immaculate Conception schools are invited to attend.
The Tuckahoe-Eastchester Girl Scouts are still in need of adult volunteers to help mold troops. Anyone with questions, or who is interested in becoming a co-leader should contact recruitment@tegirlscouts.org.
