All month long, Bronxville students Lauren Lee, Maggie Miller and Vance Wood have had their artwork displayed at the OSilas Gallery as part of Concordia College’s StArt Regional High School Art Exhibit.
Each year, the exhibit offers an opportunity for students from 30 regional public and private schools in Westchester, Fairfield, Rockland and Orange Counties to showcase their skill for accomplished judges - who include artists, professors and curators - that critique the students' work, with Miller earning an Award of Excellence during the opening reception last week.
This year, Lee, a sophomore, and Miller, showcased their colored pencil artwork. Wood,a sophomore, submitted her chalk pastel piece, “Self-reflection.”
“It’s so important for students to share their artwork with the greater community, as it adds value to their work,” art teacher Courtney Alan noted. “Their artwork is evidence of the creative learning that takes place at Bronxville High School and allows them to demonstrate their unique perspectives alongside their peers.”
