Bronxville, N.Y. -- The following is a message from the Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Eastchester Community Fund President Doug Meyer:
Dear friends and neighbors,
I am proud to serve as President of your Community Fund for the 2015 – 2016 fiscal year.
Each year, The Community Fund allocates the combined donations of our residents to over 20 agencies that serve the Bronxville, Bronxville 10708, Eastchester and Tuckahoe communities.
For example, in the current fiscal year, our grants will be used to fund: The after-school program and summer enrichment program at Eastchester Community Action Partnership in Tuckahoe for approximately 30 children between 7 and 11 years old who otherwise would have few options for academic and social support outside of school hours; Two extra hours of care plus a hot meal for 17 Head Start children at the Andrus Early Learning Center, which better prepares these children for kindergarten and allows their parents to work during those extra hours.
Our grants fund an annual fee subsidy for low-income seniors to be able to benefit from the services of Gramatan Village, which supports seniors in the greater Bronxville area through assistance with the activities of daily life, support during life-changing events, transportation to/from events outside their homes, one-on-one consultations, and pre-screening of service providers.
One of the greatest benefits of donating to The Community Fund is the comfort of knowing that your donation will have the maximum possible impact on our community. This is thanks to the extensive due diligence conducted every year on each local agency by our volunteer evaluators and Board of Directors.
In this time of reduced government support for community-based charities, your support is more critical than ever.
To help The Community Fund continue to improve the quality of life for all residents, we ask that you consider giving to our 2015 – 2016 annual campaign.
