EASTCHESTER, N.Y. Catherine Joan Rollman, formerly of Eastchester, died May 2, surrounded by family. She was 77.
The daughter of John and Mary Englert, she was born Jan. 22, 1935, in the Bronx, N.Y. Rollman worked as an elementary school teacher at St. Bartholomew's in Yonkers and at P.S. 113 in the Bronx for 15 years.
She later became director of religious education at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson, and Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry.
Rollman moved to Landsdowne, Va., in 2005, where she became active in the community. An avid tennis player, she especially enjoyed the company of friends.
She is survived by a sister, Maryann, of New York; two sons, Robert and his wife, Lory, of New York; and Douglas and his wife, Nancy, of Virginia; and five grandchildren. Rollman was predeceased by a son, Richard Rollman.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe. Burial will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
