Eastchester Eighth-Grader Matthew DeMarco Advances In Geography Bee

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastchester Middle School student Matthew DeMarco won the local level of the National Geographic Bee competition recently.

DeMarco will now take a written test to qualify for the state level competition. If he qualifies, DeMarco will compete in an oral competition for the chance to advance to the national level and a chance at a $50,000 scholarship. 

Sixth-grader Elias Dube placed third while last year's local winner, Adam Ginsburg placed sixth.
