The three-day meet, which was held at the Boston Track & Tennis Center, concluded Sunday afternoon. The Bearcat men were 14th in the final team standings, while the women finished 15th.
Alkins' stellar weekend started Saturday, when his 200 preliminary time of 21.36 broke Cazal Arnett's 2010 school record of 21.39. In the finals on Sunday, he lowered that mark to 21.25 to win the program's first individual IC4A title since Arnett won the 400 in 2009.
It wasn't just the 200 that Alkins excelled in this weekend. He also placed fifth in the 60 and, in the process, tied the school record with a time of 6.90. It marks the second time this season he clocked that time.
