Anthony Carella, a 2012 graduate of Eastchester High School, was honored for his work on the film, "Syskon," according to the Dusty Festival's website.

Now in its 27th year, the awards ceremony is organized each year by New York's School of Visual Arts to recognize thesis students for their work in the film program.

The event, which gives the students the opportunity to exhibit their work to industry professionals, has become a source for Hollywood to "discover exceptional new talent in film and animation," according to the festival website.
