Eastchester Parents Invited To Share Experiences At New Community Website

SCARSDALE, N.Y. - New and experienced parents in southern Westchester now have a new outlet for information to help them make more educated decisions when it comes to their family and children.

The recently launched ParentNation website is a local portal for parents in southern Westchester looking to share their experiences with local businesses and children's services.

Stemming from their own frustrations trying to search for children’s resources for their own family, Scarsdale parents Renee and John Levine launched ParentNation, an online community that “harnessed the collective experiences of parents and caregivers” in one handy, one-stop shop.

According to Renee, parents largely make decisions on children’s services based on the recommendations of friends and family. With ParentNation, mothers and fathers can take the input of their own loved ones, as well as the opinions of various other families in the area who have had similar experiences.

The co-founder added that she spent an exorbitant amount of time comparing the amount of information she received for her own kids, and ParentNation was born as a place to harness all the recommendations, advice and experiences into one central location to save parents time while making more informed, confident decision.

“Members can search for services at a local level, read and write reviews, sort reviews based on what is most important to them, connect with friends so that they can see what they recommend, gain access to special offers and connect and have conversations with members through instant messaging and a community forum,” she noted.

Outside of the benefits provided to parents and caretakers, ParentNation also offers businesses the opportunity to expand their name and build their brand by establishing profile pages of their own, which will allow them to connect directly with local parents. Businesses can join with a basic membership for free or enjoy an enhanced profile with a PRO membership, which is fee-based.

“The ability to communicate with members who write them reviews allows them to strengthen relationships with customers,” she continued. “When a business posts an offer on their page, any member who has selected their business as a “favorite” will receive an email to alert them of the offer.”

Having recently launched two weeks ago, Renee said that ParentNation will be centered on Westchester and the nearby areas for the time being, but due to the nature of user-generated content, she believes it will spread wider and become a more powerful resource.

“Our Nation was founded on a genuine desire to help parents make faster, more informed decisions when it comes to services for their kids,” she added. “Our hope is that ParentNation facilitates sharing and makes the decision process faster and easier. We’re all in this together.”
