EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastchester resident Robyn Cucurullo O'Brien will build upon her musical resume in the leading female role for the Mount Pleasant Community Theater's production of "Guys and Dolls.”

The show will take the stage July 31, Aug. 1-2 and 6-8 in the John Whearty Theater at Westlake High School in Thornwood.

This is O'Brien's first performance with the Mount Pleasant Community Theater. Most recently, she was seen in "The Light in the Piazza" and "Assassins" at ARC Stages in Pleasantville.

O'Brien is a Westchester County native, originally from Briarcliff Manor, and works for The Actors Fund in New York City, a nonprofit that supports needy individuals in the entertainment industry.

"Guys and Dolls”, revolves around a romance between O'Brien's character, Sarah, a sergeant at the local mission, and Sky Masterson, a high-stakes gambler played by Tom Ammirato of Mount Kisco. It ran for about 1,200 performances when originally on Broadway, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical.

In addition to O'Brien and Ammirato, other local cast members in the show include: Rich Murden of Pleasantville; Jim Stake of Bedford Hills, Frank Accosta of Elmsford; Chris Jamison of Yorktown Heights; Chuck Buchanan of White Plains; Gary Simon of Cortlandt Manor; and Mark Firestone of Cold Spring.
