The Community Fund provides financial assistance and administrative support to non-profit organizations serving the health, education and welfare needs of residents in the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe, and the town of Eastchester, and the areas in the 10708 zip code. “The community fund acts as a safety net for our community,” noted Melinda Burge, executive director of the fund.

Burge went onto say, “Our evaluation process thoroughly vetts all agencies and programs applying for grants, not only to determine the appropriate level of financial support needed to best serve local residents, but also to ensure that the agencies we support are and remain in strong financial condition.”

Applications must be received by Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 for consideration.

Non-profit organizations who qualify are invited to apply. Funding is determined based on a number of factors including community needs, distribution of existing services, impact on the community, population served, quality of administration/service, collaboration and financial condition.

Heading up agency evaluations for this year are community fund board members Ron Mager and Catharine Needham.
