BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – More than 1,000 local shoppers are expected to flock to Bronxville today to frequent the popular village farmers market.
The market, which was established in June 2002, will return to Stone Place and Paxton Avenue with several new vendors on the roster for the season.
The Bronxville Farmers Market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – rain or shine – each Saturday through Nov. 23. It is co-sponsored by the village and by the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce. The market is managed by Mary Liz Mulligan, a member of the Bronxville Green Committee.
A dozen new vendors this season will offer Italian foods, stuffed breads, gourmet butters, oils, and additional meat and Middle Eastern fare.
New vendors include Tuckahoe’s Laura Ferraro providing fresh-cut flowers and Larchmont-based Kontoulis Family Olive Oil. There will be brick oven pizza made to order by Pizza Luca, as well as New Jersey-based Aunt Vicky’s Bickys, which makes homemade, all-natural dog treats.
All vendors at the farmers market are from the Hudson Valley area and are in good compliance with the New York State Department of Agricultural Markets. Fresh produce available includes organic produce, grass-fed meats, fresh fish from Montauk and various other fresh, homemade products.
