Kolodny will oversee the continued revitalization of the JCC, located at 999 Wilmot Road on the Scarsdale-New Rochelle town line, while emphasizing fundraising, expanding programs and invigorating community partnerships.

“This is an exciting opportunity,” she said in a statement. “I am looking forward to working with the dedicated lay and professional leadership to continue building the JCC into an integral part of the community.”

Kolodny has experience working with non-profit organizations. She has worked with the 92nd Street Y since 2001, serving as the director of the Milstein-Rosenthal Center for Media and Technology and as the director of legal affairs. She also was involved in launching Sotheby’s online auctions.

“A community center should be a central force in a community, a convener of people and ideas,” Kolodny said.

“We will continue to provide the outstanding programs and services for which we are known, as well as develop new offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of the lower Westchester community.”

Several months ago, Mike Wilkes left the JCC after a year as acting executive director. The JCC had interim leadership provided by Michael Herz, who continues as CFO, and Milton Sussman, who continues as director of development.

Ophira Cukierman, who was named board president of the JCC in August, said that Kolodny will have the opportunity to continue broadening the horizons of the organization.

“The JCC had a successful revitalization campaign last year thanks to the generous support of the community,” she said. “The Board is confident that with [Kolodny’s] talented leadership, the JCC will rise to new heights and will continue to strength its role in the community.”
