For weeks, clients from Paws and Play showed their generosity, bringing donations for the animals at Pet Rescue, a Harrison animal shelter that aids homeless, abandoned and neglected cats and dogs that are nurtured back to health.
Last week, Paws and Play owner Matt Sellechia capped off his donation drive, delivering the goods - alongside his six-foot mascot Pawley - to the grateful animals at Pet Rescue.
“I want to thank Paws and Play and their clients so much for their generous donation of toys and other much-needed items,” Pet Rescue spokesperson Beth McCabe said in a statement. “Thank you for thinking of our pets - this will help them stay content until they find their forever home.”
In addition to the donations, Sellechia arranged for his clients’ dogs pose for photos with Mrs. Claus and her elves, who “were visiting from the North Pole,” he mused. A portion of the proceeds from those photos was also donated to Pet Rescue.
“Our lobby quickly filled up with everything from treats, food and toys,” he said. “The generosity of our clients was amazing, which should not be a surprise, as they are all dog lovers who care about the treatment of animals.”
