Tuckahoe Lions Club Honors Mel Flax For 39 Years Of Service

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Lion Mel Flax has been recognized for his 39 years of service to the Tuckahoe-Eastchester Lions Club. 

Lion Peter Pergolis, was elected first vice district governor of local Lions District 20-R2. Melvin Flax also was honored for 39 years of service to the organization.

He was presented a special honor by Lion President Ray Albanese at the club's Oct. 13 meeting at Roma’s Restaurant. 

Flax has been a Lion for 39 years and has served the club as treasurer, vice president and president. 

“It is very rewarding to help fulfill community needs, and it is a great honor to be presented with this award,” he said. 

The Tuckahoe-Eastchester Lions Club meets at 7 p.m the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The club identifies needs in the community and works toward fulfill those needs. For more information, visit www.tuckahoeeastchesterlions.org.
