TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Residents of The Fountains at RiverVue wasted no time getting outdoors to enjoy the first week of spring.
On the first Tuesday of the season, a group of residents enjoyed an escorted trip into Manhattan, where they visited Rockefeller Center, watched skaters and stopped by The Metropolitan Museum of Art store for a preview of their museum visit next month. Afterward, they strolled past St. Patrick's Cathedral, window-shopped at Saks Fifth Avenue and concluded their visit with coffee and dessert at TGIF's.
“It was a beautiful day for a tour of the City,” said Christine Nazzaro, community life director. “We have quite a few residents who definitely like to take advantage of living just 45 minutes from the city. They enjoy the opera and other cultural attractions, so we usually take groups into the City six or eight times a year.”
The Easter Bunny also made an early appearance at the retirement community campus in Tuckahoe the following day, taking full advantage of early springtime temperatures in the upper 50s. Residents and their families enjoyed hunting for eggs indoors and out.
