The luncheon on Thursday will be catered by Yvonne Parker and will feature a Southern feast of chicken and ribs with all the traditional fixings. After lunch there will be the musical tribute show, “A Touch of Sinatra,” which celebrates Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday.

The Memorial Day picnic will take place May 21. All members are asked to sign up to bring baked beans, sauerkraut, side salads or dessert.

A second six-class calligraphy series will begin May 12. Students from the first series will be able to participate, but overall class size will be limited to 15.

The center is also seeking volunteers later in the month to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the Immaculate Conception Church’s Carnival (date to be announced). This fund-raiser organized by County Legislator Sheila Marcotte directly benefits the center.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the founding of the parent organizations, Senior Citizens Council, and the Tuckahoe Senior Citizens. On June 18 seniors will celebrate this anniversary with a gala luncheon at Mulino’s at Lake Isle, to be attended by members and community guests. Reserve a seat beginning May 19.

The center is looking for candidates to run for the positions of vice president and recording secretary of the executive board. Elections will be held at the June annual meeting. Anyone interested in running should contact Jennifer Vetromile
