Spolzino, a former board chairman at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, got his undergraduate’s degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from St. John’s School of Law.

Spolzino was formerly a partner at the law firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz & Dicker in White Plains.

During an eight-year hiatus from Wilson Elser, he was a justice of the New York State Supreme Court, and served five years as a Justice of the Appellate Division, the state’s intermediate appellate court

He is currently an adjunct professor at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains.

Wilson Elser has dozens of offices in the United States and one in London.

Smith Buss says it has a large client base of developers, condominiums, cooperatives, corporations, and “high-profile individuals.”

Besides its Yonkers offices, located at 733 Yonkers Ave., Smith Buss has an office in New York City at 60 East 42nd St.

Among its areas of expertise are intellectual property, privacy and e-commerce, labor and employment practices, commercial real estate, nonprofit, fire and EMS law, and civil and commercial litigation.

The Appellate Division is the state’s intermediate appellate court, only one step below the Court of Appeals in the state’s judicial hierarchy.

Because of the size of the population it serves, the Appellate Division has the largest jurisdiction in the state, and in the country.

In 2001, Spolzino was elected to a 14-year term on the state Supreme Court.

Spolzino was designated as a justice of the Appellate Division in 2004 by then-Gov. George E. Pataki, a Peekskill native and now Garrison resident. He was re-designated in that post in 2007 by then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

While in private practice, Spolzino had numerous governmental and private clients. His practice focused on municipal, environmental, and land use law.

Spolzino also was a confidential law secretary to both Appellate Division Justice Leon D. Lazer and Westchester County Court Judge Kenneth H. Lange.
