Alleged Domestic Dispute Ends in Arrest in Eastchester

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – A domestic disturbance involving a couple who were house-sitting in Eastchester resulted in an arrest after the husband shoved Eastchester police officers, police said.

Police answered a call on Corwood Road just after 1 a.m. Tuesday from a woman who said her husband was drunk and that she feared for her and her child's safety, according to Eastchester Police Lt. Robert Jensen. When officers arrived, they tried to interview the couple. But the woman said she wanted to leave with their child, and the husband tried to physically prevent her from going.

When police intervened, the man, whose identity was withheld to protect the victim's identity, tried to push past them to prevent his wife from fleeing. The man, a 32-year-old resident of Hoboken, N.J., was arrested and charged with misdemeanor obstruction of the administration of government. He was arraigned and released on recognizance with a temporary order of protection for his wife and child.

The Eastchester police also reported the following incidents between May 17 and 23:

• The front window of a home in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue was broken shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday by a rock.

• A baby carriage that had been left outside was reported stolen at 8:48 a.m. Monday from a home in the 200 block of Main Street.

• A New Rochelle man stopped by police for having a broken headlight at 10 p.m. Friday on Mill Road was found to be driving with a suspended license, Jenkins said. Joseph T. Speruzzi, 27, was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, was issued a summons and was released at the scene.

• Danlis D. Brullon, 21, of Yonkers, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was stopped for speeding on Scarsdale Avenue at 8:50 a.m. Friday, Jensen said. Bullion, who was driving with a suspended license, was processed at the police station and released on $100 cash bail.
