PELHAM, N.Y. A Connecticut man in his 40s died Monday after he went off the road on the Hutchinson River Parkway near the Wolfs Lane exit in Pelham.
The man, whose name is being withheld until his family members are notified, was driving northbound at 2:19 p.m. when he went off the road, according to Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
An off-duty fire lieutenant and a nurse stopped to help the man and discovered that he was in cardiac arrest. The two took him out of the car and administered CPR. A county police officer and Empress Ambulance workers soon arrived and helped them perform CPR.
The man was transported in an ambulance to Sound Shore Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
