Officials from Eastchester and Westchester County are still trying to determine what made 9-year-old James J. Burns lose control of his scooter on Highland Avenue near Howland Place, LoHud.com reported.
A witness told police that Burns lost control of the scooter, rode into the woods and came out, but crashed. Even though Burns was wearing a helmet, he still suffered massive head trauma, and died at Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, according to LoHud.com.
