EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Eastchester Supervisor Anthony Colavita presented a check of more than $15,000 on behalf of the town to the Eastchester Community Action Program (ECAP) in Tuckahoe on Monday night.
The ECAP is part of the Westchester Community Opportunity Program. It provides job training, youth activities and provides food to low-income families. The $15,852 check was presented to ECAP Area Director Charlene Lambrecht at the organization’s monthly board meeting.
The grant will be used to support all of ECAP’s programs. Lambrecht added that the money will also be used for essential needs to keep the organization running smoothly.
“These funds will tremendously help support our programs, as well as help with basic needs such as maintenance, supplies and telephone and copier costs.”
Colavita stressed the importance of ECAP while presenting the annual check.
“The Eastchester Community Action Program is a vital organization,” he said. “The Town of Eastchester has always supported ECAP in its endeavors to help assist our citizens.”
