Louis Ciampanelli, 60, provided personal and business accounting services for John Nardini Construction Inc. between December 2010 and February 2012. During that time, Ciampanelli allegedly told the owner and his wife to make payment checks out to payable to either Louis Ciampanelli or LMC Tax Consultants instead of paying the Internal Revenue Service directly, the district attorney said.
Ciampanelli allegedly accepted checks totaling $47,000 but allegedly never made the payments, the district attorney said.
Ciampanelli was charged with one count of third-degree grand larceny and two counts of fourth-degree tax fraud. If convicted, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison, the district attorney said.
